TIRACOOKS, which has a longstanding history of philanthropic partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs chapters in Philadelphia, traveled to Newport to celebrate the milestone evening and the mission behind it.

SIGNATURE FUNDRAISER

NEWPORT, R.I. — On Friday, June 26, Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard transformed into a sea of purple as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County hosted its 14th annual Newport Yacht Rendezvous, the club's signature summer fundraiser. TIRACOOKS, which has a longstanding history of philanthropic partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs chapters in Philadelphia, traveled to Newport to celebrate the milestone evening and the mission behind it.

From 5 to 10 p.m., guests took part in a Super Yacht Hop, stepping aboard a curated fleet of vessels — many available for charter this summer through Derecktor Yachting — each offering its own ambiance, signature cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres. Set against Newport's iconic harbor, the evening combined ocean breeze and skyline views with an atmosphere organizers and guests alike called impossible to replicate.

As dinner began, guests were escorted to white tents for a program that put the club's mission front and center. A standout moment came when a young man delivered an original rap about how the Boys & Girls Club changed his life, drawing a standing ovation and a call for more youth to have access to the same opportunity. The evening also honored its Youth of the Year, the highest honor a member can receive in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, recognizing academic achievement, character, community service, and leadership among teens 14 to 18.

The night's paddle raise brought the room to its feet, with guests rushing to claim purple "raise the paddle" shirts in support of the cause, before the evening closed out with dancing under the tents. All proceeds from the event benefit programs and services for the youth of Newport County.
