About Tira Cooks

My name is Tira, a fashion lover who picked up sewing in August 2024. I was tired of seeing blues, blacks, and grays on the clothing rack. Sadly, the only color options were poorly fitted or ridiculously expensive.

My wife encouraged me to learn how to sew, and at first it was no fun for me. The first thing I made was a zebra stripped dog dress for my puppy Jazzy, it was way too big to wear outside, but it was cute!strive for excellence in everything we do.

Celebrating Diversity

Next up was an alterations wrap around blouse. I chose a blue cotton men’s button down and thought I was doing something, until I realized halfway through the project it wasn’t going to fit my boobs. Can you believe it?

After persevering through so many non-wearables, eventually my sewing became something to be proud of. That is when Tira Cooks began. I wanted to celebrate diversity and expand the way we view fashion standards. Specializing in vintage glamour, Tira Cooks offers free patterns, pattern reviews, and tips to help you on a new project!
