Tira Kelly is a Philadelphia-based haute couture designer and founder of Tira Cooks, a women-owned, minority-owned luxury fashion label rooted in craftsmanship, intentional design, and the belief that every woman deserves to command a room with grace.
A Caribbean born and Florida native, Kelly discovered her passion for sewing during the pandemic, inspired by a lifelong love of bold color, feminine silhouettes, and self-expression. What began as a personal creative pursuit quickly evolved into a brand shaped by years of experience in premium retail merchandising for houses like Versace and Michael Kors, and grounded in a deep commitment to the business of fashion.
In less than one year, Tira Cooks has emerged as one of Philadelphia's most compelling emerging labels. Kelly debuted her first collection, Technicolor Beneath the Surface, on the runway at Philadelphia Fashion Week in February 2026 presenting 13 original looks to a packed house at the Fashion District Philadelphia. The collection was met with immediate critical acclaim, earning features in The Hook Magazine where Kelly landed the cover with a multi-page story as well as Lifestyles Media, The Knockturnal, and Dosage Magazine. That same season, Kelly was awarded the Illuminate the Arts Grant from the Philadelphia City Council, recognizing her contribution to the city's creative sector.
Tira Cooks produces small-batch, sustainable collections made in Philadelphia using heirloom fabrics designed for the modern woman who values individuality over trends and legacy over impulse. Each piece is crafted with precision and intention, from structured silhouettes that celebrate every curve to conversation-starting prints that reflect the wearer's most authentic self.
Beyond the garments, Kelly is building a community.
